OUR HISTORY

Michael KibblewhiteHarlow Chorus was founded in 1975 by Michael Kibblewhite, known as one of the most charismatic choral directors in the U.K. Sarah Tenant-Flowers, also a leading choral director of her generation, took over as Musical Director in 1996 and then became President of the Chorus.

Daniel Hyde, spent two successful seasons with us before leaving to take up post as Informator Choristarum at Magdalen College, Oxford. The musical directorship then passed to Alexander Chaplin who lead the Chorus for 8 wonderful seasons and who recently had to reluctantly resign for personal reasons.

We are pleased to say that Peter Broadbent returns as Acting Musical Director for our Christmas concert.

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Edward Rhys-Harry as our new Musical Director and he will be taking the reins from January 2018.

CURRENT MUSIC TEAM

Our accompanist, Sue Graham Smith is a full-time professional musician whose excellent skills as a pianist and deputy rehearsal conductor contribute greatly to rehearsals and to the overall performance of the choir. Sue frequently accompanies the Chorus during our concerts.
