I am sending this newsletter from our new website which should now be much easier to read on your mobile devices. It is still a work in progress but you will find the details for our next concert and future dates listed under Upcoming Events.
On Saturday 13 November at 7.30pm we will give our second concert of the 2021-2022 season at St John's Church, Epping CM16 5DN, a performance of Brahms' A German Requiem, sung in German, with soprano Monica McGhee and baritone Jolyon Loy, accompanied on two pianos by Aeron Preston and Annabel Thwaite. In the first half the choir will sing Mozart's Ave verum corpus and McDowall's Ave maris stella while Aeron will play a Brahms chorale prelude on Epping's fine organ and Monica will will sing Luigi's famous song Il Bacio (The Kiss). A fabulous evening of music-making conducted by our equally fabulous Musical Director Edward-Rhys Harry.
Just a month later we are back at St Stephen's Church, Harlow CM18 6QR at 6.00pm on Satruday 11 December for our Family Christmas Concert which will include excerpts from Maunder's Bethlehem and Handel's Messiah. We are delighted to welcome the return of the Henry Moore Primary School Choir and a first visit by a wind quintet from Harlow Symphony Orchestra. Harlow Chorus' Accompanist Aeron Preston completes the line-up. M.D. Edward-Rhys Harry is composing a Christmas Cantata which will involve all participants and of course you, the audience will be joining in the singing of traditional carols, one of the many pleasures that was cancelled last year.
